About us

At EarthCentric, our approach is rooted in the understanding that everything we do
— from construction and development to everyday land use — interacts with the surrounding ecosystems and communities.

Drawing on experience in ecological and aquatic sciences, hands-on field work,  regenerative land practices, and relationship building with local communities,we help projects move forward while strengthening long-term ecosystem resilience.

“When we begin to understand our land ecologically, every decision becomes an invitation to regenerate and restore, and every action becomes an act of healing — enriching the soil beneath us, the ecosystems around us, and the well-being within us for generations to come.

Dirk Campher (M.Sc., BC-CESCL)
Co-Founder & Aquatic Ecologist

Dirk is an experienced and dedicated Ecologist & Environmental Professional with a strong back-ground in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. He completed his Master’s Degree in Environment and Water Science which featured monitoring stream restoration and flood management implementations on the mid to lower reaches of an urban river system.

He specializes in aquatic ecology and brings a wealth of experience in freshwater systems, including hydrological & geomorphological assessments, water quality monitoring, baseline ecological surveys and habitat assessments supporting construction and land-use projects. Dirk is also skilled in environmental monitoring (EM), erosion and sediment control (ESC) inspections, ecological field surveying, and practical watershed stewardship. He is currently pursuing Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) designation through the College of Applied Biology of British Columbia.

When Dirk is not waste deep in water, he has his hands in the soil on organic and regenerative farming practices, where he focuses on soil health, food systems, pollinator gardens, and long-term land and water resilience.

In his free time, he can usually still be found wallowing in the water, this time on a surf board.
